Hello, Newgrounds.

Posted by SanyaUmbra - January 2nd, 2024

Hello, Newgrounds. My name is Sanya Umbra and I'm an italian artist.

I work mostly on board games as a character designer and illustrator and on socials I post about Dungeons & Dragons and my various ocs.

I'm in search of a good comunity to share my art, and have feedbacks, so don't be afraid to write what you think.

I'm really really unlcuky with other social medias, to the point that I allmost stopped posting on my instagram page, but

I'm hopefull here. Not knowing how this site works I'm sorry if I'll do any errors, so please be patient with me!

Hope you'll like my stuff!

Piacere mio!

Welcome to the dungeon called Newgrounds

Happy to be here. My chains are shined and ready to be shackled!

@SanyaUmbra ok... Do you also play in D and D rounds? what is your favorite class? and most importantly what is your favorite monster?

I'm a dungeon master, yes. I mastered a couple of campains, one of which online (it's called "Alta Marea a Molofosso". Yep, unfortunatly it's only in italian) and also in person. My favorite class is a though question (I0m mostly a forever DM). Maybe warlock or paladin? I also played a monk/bard for a bit.
My favorite monsters are the gibbering mouther and the Kuo-toas. I love those strange fishes.
What about you?

@SanyaUmbra So I'm a beginner in pen and paper games and just like that I'm a beginner in D&D and currently the class I feel most comfortable in is the magician (but I still have a lot to learn) I've also tried a mystic knight and a babaren, but so far I still feel most at home in the magician class.

My favorite monsters are actually my own creations, but if I had to choose one from the D&D universe it would be...FLESH GOLEM

The flesh golem is pretty creepy and cool. They made a "demonic" variant. Try searching for "fiendish flesd golem".
The mage is a pretty cool class. Maybe I never played because in the fifth edition it has a LOT of spells to choose from. Maybe too many.

@SanyaUmbra OK, cool. I think it works with the number of spells, if you know in which direction it should be cast (at least I think so)

I would like to be a game master myself (among other things to test my own monsters). I think it would be cool, but also quite stressful.

It's a bit stressfull, yes, but seeing your story be shaped by your players, and seeing them enjoing playing in it, is a really rewarding thing. And yeah, I guess challenging them with weird monsters you made is quite fun too. You should try. X) You can find a simple quest in the starter kit for start trying if you want! Or if you don't care what type of roleplaying game to do, I also suggest Fabula Ultima (even if I'm not sure if it's transladet yet). It's more high fantasy but it should be really easy to add your monsters in it.

@SanyaUmbra Interesting. But before I become a GM I would first gain more experience.
but I know it will be the first quest for my group

The first quest in my campaign is to escape from the Demon King's dungeon

A reverse journey, interesting.

@SanyaUmbra Thanks, the idea was that the group first went to a village where they wanted to take on an order, but the client waited until morning and after the group went to sleep in the village, the villagers sold them to the demon king and had to escape from his dungeon. You will meet some opponents who keep appearing in the campaign (as bosses).
